Director General Chen Huan met with Sustainable Development Bureau of the World Bank

On September 24th, Director General Chen Huan of China CDM Fund met with John Roome, sector director of sustainable development bureau of East Asia and Pacific region of the World Bank in Beijing. Director General Chen Huan introduced the management structure, sources of funding, grants and investments progress of China CDM Fund and expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its support since the preparation of the Fund. He pointed out that existing cooperation programs of the two sides went smoothly and hoped that cooperation could be strengthened in fields including information sharing, capacity building and project investment and financing. Mr. Roome expressed that the World Bank paid high attention to its cooperation with China in, among other areas, climate change and low carbon development, and that the two sides should draw upon each other’s successful experiences and practices.
In addition, the two sides exchanged ideas further on how to carry out specific projects and would keep in close touch to explore and implement future cooperation projects.
