Forth Negotiator Conference of Establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is Held in Beijing

From April 27 to April 28, the Forth Negotiator Conference of Establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) was held in Beijing. The conference was chaired by Shi Yaobin, the standing chairman of the Negotiator Conference of Establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance. Negotiators from 55 prospective founding members of the AIIB and Jin Liqun, Secretary General of the multilateral temporary secretariat of the AIIB attended the conference (Bangladesh and Nepal were absent with leave). A representative from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region attended the conference as a member of the Chinese Government Delegation.
The Conference welcomed that 27 countries including Germany, Italy, France, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Spain, South Korea, Austria, Holland, Brazil, Finland, Georgia, Denmark, Australia, Egypt, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Israel, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Iceland, Portugal and Poland become new prospective founding members of the AIIB. The conference conducted thorough and fruitful discuss on the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Chapter (Draft) written by the multilateral temporary secretariat and achieved remarkable progress. The Secretary General Jin Liqun reported the progress of establishing the AIIB to the conference.
According to the work plan of establishing the AIIB, all parties plan to discuss and sign the final version of the AIIB Chapter in the middle of 2015. After the chapter is approved by the member countries and comes into force, the AIIB will be formally established by the end of the year.
