China welcomes France, Italy and Germany’s application to become founding members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment..

On March 17, France, Italy and Germany announced to apply to become founding members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and promised to issue the written confirmation letter to China as soon as possible.

China welcomes France, Italy and Germany’s decision. As the chairman of the Chief Negotiator’s Meeting of AIIB founding members, China will solicit opinions of existent founding members according to multilateral procedures after receiving the written confirmation letter. France, Italy and Germany will officially become the founding members of AIIB after two weeks if the process goes on successfully.
