Chairwoman He Bangjing Presents the Book “We Care for Our Climate” by WMO to Beijing No.2 Experimental Primary School

To strengthen public awareness of climate change, China CDM Fund Management Center and Beijing No.2 Experimental Primary School jointly held a book presentation ceremony on 10th October, 2011. Madam He Bangjing, member of Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Chair of strategic development committee of China CDM Fund Management Center, gave “We Care for Our Climate” published by World Meteorological Organization (WMO) as gift to students of the primary school. Present on the ceremony were leaders from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, and China Meteorological Administration.
Chairwoman He Bangjing praised Beijing No.2 Experimental Primary School for cultivating students’ low carbon awareness, and emphasized that children and public awareness played a key role in addressing climate change in the long term. She also encouraged students to protect environment in their daily lives, and set an example for other people and the whole society with their actions. On the ceremony, Chairperson He interacted friendly with students who expressed their determination to protect environment and save energy. Chen Huan, deputy director-general of Management Center, and Li lie, president of the Primary School also addressed the ceremony.
With the signature of Secretary-General Jarraud of WMO, this book could help children know more about greenhouse gases and the influence of global warming by telling stories with vivid cartoons and easy language.
